The F.r.e.s.h. Book Festival
Today I exhibited and sold my book - for the first time - at the F.R.E.S.H. Book Festival in Daytona Beach, FL. It was exciting to set up a table to sell "my" book and it made
me smile when people stopped and complimented the set up.
I was supported by my BFF, Goddaughter and dear friend and fellow book club President Toni Bonita Robinson, who traveled from Jacksonville to attend. Award -winning author Brian W. Smith was the featured speaker and it was great not just to reconnect with him but to have someone of his stature to chat with about "the process" of selling myself to the crowd.
I didn't sell many books but I certainly learned a lot about this side of "the business". I was pleasantly surprised by the number of authors who stopped by, read the title
of my book and asked for tips on marketing and promoting. It was eye-opening that many seem to have put the cart before the horse or published the book without a solid plan for how to market, promote and sell it.
Moving on to the next event, the next book, the next step of the way in this my literary life!
